Digital recordings will save you both time and money. They are clearer to understand than analog audio (tapes). They eliminate the need for storage space, as digital recordings can be stored electronically. In addition, your files can be uploaded instantaneously.
Formatting digital files
I will accept all digital formats. Some audio formats produce larger files as they are not compressed or the compression is not always the same. I recommend a file format that is both digital and compressed, such as the Olympus .dss files. I am committed to providing you with the best quality transcription possible based on the audio you send.
Acceptable formats
I will accept a digital file in almost any format. If you already have a format you are comfortable with, let me know while I am setting up your account and we can discuss it. However, I no longer work with cassette tapes.
Transmission
Once your account is established CBTranscription offers secure HTTPS file transmission. We provide physicians and their qualified staff access to their patient records for viewing or download 24 hours a day from any computer connected to the internet. Unlike email, the size of the audio file you may submit is unlimited. Additonally, should your office server temporarily be offline, all patient records that have been transcribed by CBTranscription will be available to you through your secure account.
